Can I rent a bike at your shop?

 

Yes! We have a variety of hybrid/city bikes that you can rent that come equipped with a rear rack, trunk bag, combination, and u-lock. We also include lights for any night rides around the NYC area.

Do you sell used bikes?

 

We do sell used bikes and they are located in the back of our shop. Before we sell them back to our cutomers we recondition the entire bicycle to ensure that they are as close to new and have the highest possible quality. Please do not to hesitate to call Cycle Fitnes with any questions you have about buying and/or trade ins.

Do you buy used bikes?
 

We do not buy used bikes, but we do accept trade ins depending on the quality and state of the bike you are offering, as it has to pass our Second Hand Bike Trade-In Criteria check. Bring it in and we will see what it is worth! For those who want to check over their bikes prior to visitng us, please see below.

 

Cycle Fitness's Second Hand Bike Trade-In Criteria

 

  • Bike needs to have a working seatpost

  • No cracks or heavy damage to the frame

  • Steerer and headset in contact with little or no damage

  • All attachments and rivets isn't gouged with a minimum amount of scratches

  • No large gaps or thick bubbling paint on or around bonding zones

  • The contact points should not have exposed aluminium

  • No infringements in the tyres, rim and/or hub. Deflated tyres are accepted.

  • Drivetrain needs to be intact

  • Cabeling and control wires should be responisive and able to quickly and freely snap back.

What traffic laws apply to bicyclists in New York City?
 

Cyclists have all the rights and are subject to all of the duties and regulations applicable to drivers of motor vehicles (RCW 46.61.755). Bicycles who violate traffic laws will be subject to a citation.

Do I have to schedule an appointment to have my bike repaired at your shop?

 

That depends. You don't have to make an appointment with one of our bicycle mechanics to get basic repairs done. On the otherhand, if you have intircate or specialized requirements that one of our staff members has expertise in, then we will reccomend making an appointment with him/her upon hearing your requests.
